Mappoint Replacement

With Mappoint gone, what can sales reps use instead?

After 15 years of service, Microsoft ultimately decided to the discontinue their MapPoint software because of increasing competition from apps available on mobile devices. It makes perfect sense since last-minute-changes often come up on the route and it’s much easier for a sales rep to schedule these changes on a mobile app to save time and money.

Have no fear! There are several programs on the market that can help sales rep optimize their routes.

Badger Maps

Badger Maps

Badger Maps is built specifically for sales reps to map their customers and organize their territories. This app allows you to plot all of your customer’s addresses and the software optimizes a route to save sales reps time so they aren’t wasting time and energy. It also features access to live traffic data from Google Maps. Badger also has a lead generation component that can give you potential clients you reach out to while you are on the fly. Badger is available on the desktop, smartphone, and tablet.

Pitney Bowes

Pitney Bowes

Pitney Bowes is a statistical mapping and business analysis software. Their software could be a great option if you were interested in doing an in-depth analysis of your customer data in order to strategize where to put your next store location.

Xactly Alignstar

Xactly Alignstar

This app allows you to automate territory alignment and apply advanced market analytics with the Optimizer feature. Use streamlined sales territory management to process data from up to 10 different data sources at once, including spreadsheets and ODBC databases.

eSpatial

eSpatial

eSpatial is another alternative to MapPoint that lets you make pin, territory, radius, and bubble maps. There is also route map optimization, map creation, data visualization and data analysis. A big difference between MapPoint and eSpatial is that eSpatial mapping software is cloud-based. One caveat to eSpatial though is that the software is not easily accessibly on a smartphone.

BatchGEO

BatchGEO

BatchGEO allows you to make routes from a list of multiple addresses, create a mobile optimized map or locator. This software is a bit on the pricier side at $99/month but it is available on a smartphone.
